Present: Brad Rekstad, MMN National Guard; Susan Williams, Volunteer; Sarah Reznechek, RCW Social Worker; Kiza Olsen, SHIP Grant Coordinator; Annie Tepfer, RAPAD Coalition Coordinator.
Annie described the RAPAD Coalition organizational structure & volunteer description to the coalition members. Then Annie did a short presentation on capacity building in our communities. The Renville County ACE’S Committee will be meeting this Friday at the Renville County Government Center #121B. Canby is having Karina Foresst-Perkins do a ACE’S Training on January 20th 8-12:00 . Kevin Sabat, served in the Obama Administration as Senior Advisor at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). Feb 13th Kevin will be speaking at the Mall of America- The state DFC coalitions are helping to get this project organized and wondering if our coalition would want to help financially? The coalition discussed this and Susan Williams made a motion for the coalition to help with $300 to go towards the expense of Kevin Sabet will be secured to come on this date and do the following:
o Speak for a period of 2 hours, 30 minutes and have 30 minutes of Q &A.
o Will speak on Minnesota Public Radio
o Will also have round table discussion with Legislatures around marijuana and legalization

RBST Annie and Tom Swyter held a RBST in Renville last week. Annie discussed offering Tobacco Sales ID Training for local establishments and was wondering if Kiza, the new SHIP coordinator was interested in collaborating on this.
Compliance Checks-Alcohol Tom Swyter is going to approach Sheriff Hable about doing the alcohol compliance checks again soon.
Student Planners for RCW 5th – 7th graders were purchased and a prevention message was added to the planner to give to the students.
New SHIP Coordinator-Kiza Olson was introduced and hopefully we will have interaction on working on tobacco prevention and cessation in the county.
Sustainability-Fundraisers were discussed and a committee is needed to start some plans for year 4 and 5 as our In-Kind Match is increased. Some ideas were- Schwanns Food Truck Sales, Having a donations month, Bake Sale , Flocking people’s yards with Pink Flamingos for a charge. I will research this more.
Brad Rekstad reported he will be able to lead us through the Kaizen Survey Results next month at our January meeting.
Chuck- New Thank you Radio ad was developed and will be recorded for Christmas airing.
Renville County Register- covered the Youth Leadership Training with pictures of RCW and BOLD Students. Morton Newsletter had another prevention article for RAPAD .
Youth Groups- Project Footsteps are willing to come out and meet with youth groups at each of the schools to engage them in activities to make a change in their schools.
RCW- Sarah Reznechek reported that the students are conducting a FOOD SHELF DRIVE in the school from Dec.-January. They will also be doing the Above The Influence campaign again.
