The youth groups, as branches of the coalition are formed in the school districts around the county to create awareness about underage alcohol and drug use. These youth groups sponsor Town Hall Meetings and substance use events, present to city and county boards and develop projects to impact their communities. Representatives from the youth groups attend an annual Youth Leadership Academy.

55 Students from all school districts, including St. Mary’s and BLHS attended a Youth Leadership Training facilitated by “Project Foot Steps in November, 2013 at Max’s Grill in Olivia. Youth learned how to be leaders in their school and communities and be the change agents.
Youth groups work on Red Ribbon Week events, Kick Butt Day, Sticker Shock, Prom Letters, Food Shelf Drive, Mix It Up Day at lunch, Social Host Ordinances, Create prevention videos, No Bullying Day, read prevention books to elementary, Above The Influence Campaign, Positive Community Norms Media Campaigns, Radio Ads, Homecoming Messages, articles for the paper, teachers messages, messages on pizza box, waterbottles, banners, poster development etc.
They are the real leaders in our coalition efforts. We couldn’t do it without them!
